SMARTY SIM in Doro 6520

Hi. I have put my SMARTY Sim card into a Doro 6520 flip phone (using a Nano to Micro Sim adapter). The phone won't recognise the SIM at all; red cross in the top left and SOS call only in the display. I believe the Doro 6520 is a 3G phone. Any tips gratefully received. Thank you 😊

Thorste_1398745  As 3G has been turned off, the phone has no network to connect to.

Thorste_1398745 Smarty, or rather Three - Smarty's parent network - have now turned off 3G in most parts of the country (including where you are), hence you are getting no service. You need a 4G phone (and specifically, one that is compatible with Smarty's 4G calling) to use Smarty now.

You should be able to use your Doro on any other UK network that doesn't use Three, as the rest all still have 2G coverage which the phone can use (Three doesn't).

One option: The Doro 6520 only works with 2G 3G SIMs / Networks. SMARTY is 4G. So it won't work. Might that be the answer?

Thorste_1398745  There are newer Doro models that will work on 4G if you need that type of specification.

Also worth mentioning that an adapter may not be the best. You can always order a replacement sim which will come ready with all sizes.
