Receiving a text when overseas in South Africa
I seem to have a recurring issue with this service or lack of it. I am suppose to get free text to SA - they don’t work I tried the not do help desk made adjustments to the iPhone still no joy. Is it simply pointless and should I try an alternative sim operator

GrahamR_1560849 I wonder whether the problem may lie with the network that you are connecting to in S. Africa. Perhaps you have a poor signal. This is not down to Smarty.
I suggest doing manual network search on your phone and try each in turn.
To be clear the phone signal is fine. There are other cell phones here with different Sims and these work fine, noting these are overseas sim providers. What does not work is Smarty the UK sim. Therefore the comment not down to Smarty is nonsense. Further I have now contacted Smarty on several different occasions and these responses are equally hopeless.
GrahamR_1560849 ...and you are certain that these other overseas sims are using one particular SA network that you have also tried?
