No Whatsapp compatability
Issue sorted by going to connections then mobile networks and manually selecting SMARTY instead of the automatic selection setting . Did this on both phones and issue is resolved.
DerekCo_3325890 There is usually no problem with using WhatsApp on smarty from experience.
Are both phones working on data generally? When you use a new phone for WhatsApp, are you sure that all of the settings have transferred across? Worth trying a fresh install of that app?
I’m not unique. Millions have same problem it goes back years

and have decided smarty is just a “ if need loads data “ sim . The other providers are for all else .

Many of us have not experienced this problem.
Many of us use plans that do not have "loads data".

hmmm 🤔 facts mate facts .Anyway she’s. || he is trying to fix my iPhone 12 Pro Max WhatsApp issue as we speak.. ( nothings worked yet ).. and if can’t they admit defeat and I’ll just use WhatsApp via giffgaff on the spare little iPhone SE second gen via gaff sim solely to run WhatsApp.

Reddit alone is full of it !Man / lady rep on helpdesk is helping me with it on other phone now doing a hard re set of phone as nothing is processing from WhatsApp . They say they’re more
aware of it now and are looking into this .
