How to disable monthly renewal text messages
I did read your last sentence - I was just double-checking that I understood correctly.
"Allowed" to send the messages? Many firms that I deal with -credit card companies, banks, utilities included - let me know that there is a statement or that they are taking money and then let me know when I have paid it. It seems to be common practice. It hardly takes much payment of attention but indicates that all is as expected with the account.
"Bizarre"? In these days of the scum scammers, any text that shows me something that I wasn't expecting is a good thing in my opinion. If I decided to take a break from buying a plan for a month or two for some reason, but then received such a text and email, it would alert me to something unexpected and I could investigate.
Thank you @MSF, for taking the time to answer again. We simply have different styles of running our respective businesses, and I happily accept that everyone is different. For me, it's about disengaging from unnecessary and empty communication as much as possible — I like to be in control, or at least feel that I am. Text messages are disruptive by their very nature; they exist because it is worthwhile to interrupt someone for good reasons. I use them a lot for this very purpose. For ordinary status messages, such as subscription renewals, emails are perfectly sufficient — they are clearly not urgent.
Thanks for reading this far and bye for now.

@Michael_2043373 Thanks for further information. I don't run a business.
Smarty isn't intended for business use - they specifically preclude it in the T&C's.
That perhaps helps to explain why you find the communication unnecessary and empty.
