PC hotspot not connecting asking for network security key
- 18-04-2024
Thankyou for links still same response.
Have dual SIM so will try over having removed other SIM. As both give same hotspot password so could be the issue. Will update once resolved. Appreciate your support

Not resolved yet. Not sure why accepted as a solution.
Got new hotspot passed, reset adapter settings on laptop. Same response won't connect. Changed security key to none and connected but not safe to use this way. Unless anyone has another idea will contact smarty .

A. Did you not accept an answer as the solution?
B. The fact that you can connect to mobile data means that your sim is working fine. The issue appears to lie somewhere between your phone and the laptop. For that reason, I unfortunately don't think that Smarty support will be able or willing to help as their only responsibility is to provide a working sim.

By the way, in addition to what Chalkychap @advised, a network security key is more commonly known as a WiFi password.
The WiFi password for your device is probably to be found on a sticker on the base or back of your device.

Continuation: as some info has changed since last connection with same phone. Namely smarty SIM. Enter hotspot no. Response unable to connect to this network.

Perhaps the hotspot on your handset, with the SMARTY SIM, has a new key / password, Katheri_2636764 - have you checked?
The "Tethering and mobile hotspots" online article in the SMARTY help centre may help.
