novice iphone user, old! needs help
I've bought an iphone 17E. to take across my number, I had to sign up to three.co.uk. I've moved my sim card across but there is no phone use. I'd like to stay with Smarty. What do i need to do?

the local mobile man moved across my sim card from smarty into my new phone.....so i thought that would mean that my number was already across?

janicel_2783448 I'm a bit confused now.....also old!! If the local mobile man moved your sim, had you already signed up to Three before that? I'm effectively asking why you needed to visit him.
If you simply put the Smarty sim into this phone, it should be working. Have you checked on your Smarty account to see that it is showing a current smarty plan and also an activated sim?
Did the phone work with the Three sim in it before he changed your sim over?

janicel_2783448 If you signed up with Three, then didn't they give you a sim (either a physical one or else and e-sim) that has a number on their network?
If you 'signed up' with Three, then you'll be paying them for the contract each month I assume - if you bought the phone outright you wouldn't need to sign up. Were you aware that you were signing up to some monthly contract?
You can put your Smarty sim into the phone and carry on with Smarty, but it seems like you will be paying Smarty for your plan and also Three for the contract.
If you are now unfortunately in a contract with Three, you could ask Smarty for a PAC code and transfer you number across to Three. As the two networks use same masts, you should have a similar service.
