New mobile device
I have just purchased a 16 pro 5G capable and i have changed my smarty sim card to the new mobile device but it does not work or connect. when i put the sim back into my old phone works straight away.\Please advise if there is something i need to do on the new mobile devise to get it working as it is so frustration my old telephone is fast dying so need to have my other phone working please help. |Thank you

Perhaps the iPhone 16 Pro you bought is network locked, BrianCo_1281907.
If the item was a refurb purchase, sometimes the seller refurb QC processes fail and network locked phones are delivered. Otherwise, the SIM card reader might be faulty.

BrianCo_1281907 You should have absolutely no problem putting a sim into an iPhone 16 Pro and everything should work fine. iPhones are not network locked these days, so that would not be a problem.
I can only think that you may have inserted the sim incorrectly. Phone face upwards, they normally go in the underneath of the sim tray, facing upwards, from memory. As your phone supports esim, you could also ask to have the physical sim transitioned to an esim via your Account Dashboard.
