My number transferred but people still receiving msg with original SIM number

I have my new phone and SIM for a month so long enough for the number to transfer. I received confirmation my number had transferred and thought everything was sorted.

Yesterday I friend text me to my old number which I received but when I sent a reply it was from a different number (I **bleep** the original SIM number).

How is this possible and can it be fixed to I'm sending and receiving messages with the number I want?

    Elle  This has been covered very many times in this forum.

    You should be able to change the number in your phone settings. The phone has 'remembered' the random number initially allocated when the sim was activated.

    A network reset is also a way to sort this.
