Moved to social tariff, now no service at all
I doubt any staff are here, but it's worth a try in desperation...
Yesterday evening I made the mistake of moving from Unlimited Voice plan to the social tariff.
I chatted with an agent first and asked if I would lose service somehow in the move. I should have trusted my gut, as a while back when a change went ahead service ended too. Apparently the agent pressed something they shouldn't have...
Anyway after applying for the tariff, and hour later I received an email saying I was successful blah blah.
Then a few hours later, all service has gone - I can make 'emergency calls only'
I've been in a chat session with a Smarty agent for 1hr 15 mins now. The guy isn't listening, and got me resetting network, taking sim out, going to a neighbours house to check signal, and more.
I asked three times for escalation to a manager so that they could check what's been deactivated their end (same as last time) It's definitely a problem their end - my account says 'Adult content' disabled, so I had to go in, and add another card just to get that enabled. It wouldn't accept my card already showing.
I have no broadband here and being disabled / living alone I need service on my phone as an essential. I've had to pay £7.99 for 24 hr EE WiFi just to contact Smarty.
It looks like I'll have to get into town before end of day to another provider's store and buy a SIM. I've no choice.
