I've been told that Smarty can't send a text although I'm unlimited.

Can you please supply more details so that someone can help you 🤔
If you are referring to sending a text to a short code number then SMARTY does not support this service (If you do a search for 'Short Codes' then you will see the many, MANY posts about this 😤).
If this is not the problem, then more information posted the better! 😁
