Is this a scam?
Hi I’ve just received the following text that I’m pretty sure it’s a scam as I’ve not signed up for anything other than my mobile package over a year ago or there abouts:
“You signed up for SMS from shortcode 60551. You've insufficient funds to receive it so need to buy an add-on. Visit https://info.smarty.uk/c9i8x1x9 for details.”

When I used the "Short Code Checker" link and ran the short code in the message I got this;
If you are worried about it it you might want to contact HMRC otherwise just leave it unless it Keeps happening. If you are going to contact HMRC I would check the contact No on their web site just as a security belt and braces approach. The last time I rang HMRC, granted a while back, it was a free No.
