Does not work in Australia.
My smarty sim doesn’t work in Australia. Smarty sold me a 15 pounds add on for use in Australia. Smarty has committed fraud. I’m going to cancel with smarty when I get home and switch to another provider

Visited the Optus store in Sydney who confirmed that there is nothing wrong with my device (Iphone12) and there are no restrictions on it connecting to the networks in Australia. They told me that the issue is definitely with Smarty not being about to use networks in Australia. Bought a local sim from Optus which works perfectly well. Nice to be back on mobile data again. Smarty still insist that it is a device issue and nothing to do with them. Like beating my head against a wall.
Just to clarify. My wife and I have identical iPhone 15s. The only difference between the two is that I have a smarty sim in mine and my wife has a 3 mobile sim in her phone. Smarty tech “support “ - and I use that term lightly - insists that it’s a device issue and not a smarty issue. Work that one out.
Hi, Maybe something has changed since but we were in Melbourne October 2024 and it worked fine (I did buy a local card to use mostly due to call cost though). Back again next year so will keep an eye on this one.
As an addition to this. My wife has a three mobile sim in her iPhone which works perfectly well here in Australia. Smarty is absolute rubbish.
Doesn't sound promising for me next year then. Thanks for the heads up.
