Activated new SIM but no mobile network available

I have activated my sim. I am in the middle of Nottingham and I can’t  make a call. It says mobile network not available. 3 doesn’t work in Nottingham?

    Does this happen with your SMARTY SIM in a different handset JohnTho_1885001? 

    Did you get an email confirming your new SMARTY SIM card was active?

    Does the SIM work outside Nottingham?

      I haven’t got another phone to check and I can’t easily check coverage outside the city and yes an email was received confirming that SIM active. Dashboard shows a different phone number to the number on the back of the card
