3G Turn Off
Since 3G has been turned off I have no reception in the centre of York. My phone (iPhoneXR) says I have a 4G reception but nothing - apps or websites will load. One mile out of the city and I get reception...What's going on. If it's not sorted asap I'm changing network.

Yes. It is not the phone. Lots of people are having the same problem. They've turned off 3G when some places don't even have a 4G reception!! The regulator should have not let this happen.
Did you check that VoLTE is enabled in Settings?
