New sim awaiting verification code

Does anyone know do I have to have data to receive this.

@Geoffrey_428921  No, you should receive a verification code as a text message.

That said, there are some companies that use third-party services to send a code and there can occasionally be problems.

I have received verification from (among others) HMRC, NHS, dentist, bank etc with no problem.
