Activating a second sim
EmilyBr_3166477 You can activate a second sim on the same account as a 'nickname' sim. It will also remain under your control. I strongly suggest that you read this article and those that are linked from it: https://help.smarty.co.uk/en/articles/3417277-what-is-a-group-plan

Hopeless post that doesn't answer the question!

AndrewM_1767361 Rude and unhelpful.
I would have expected you to provide a much better answer if you are certain that mine is hopeless.
Nothing like joining a thread 5 months later without adding any value!

I looked at this thread because I had the same issue. Your answer referred the OP to resources they explicitly and correctly said do not properly address this situation. Unfortunately, once I worked out what would help, this board does not allow the user to find any posts they've made. Your response now enables me to do that.
The short answer is you can't add a second SIM obtained from elsewhere to your account via the app. Trying to do so always takes you to a dead end of ordering one from Smarty.
Instead you must do it from a browser.
If you're doing it on your phone, with the app installed, this causes issues. Even if you use the web, Smarty URLs will be associated with the app which, as I say, doesn't let you activate a second SIM obtained elsewhere.
The easiest thing to do is temporarily to uninstall the app.
Then, using your mobile browser, create a second account with a different email. From there, activate and pay for the second SIM. You can then log out, log back in with the first account and invite the second one to your group. You can do that on your browser or reinstall the app and do it there.
I hope this helps. The FAQs do not explain this.
