Are 5G phones 5G or is it the SIM?
Got current 4G Smarty SIM in new phone. Just as slow!
Keep changing card into each phone. Am I on same old phone number when I do this?

5G phones have the specific internal components required to use a 5G mobile network signal.
If your SMARTY SIM card is very old it's possible it's not 5G enabled.
I'd suggest asking the online web chat support team to check your SMARTY account, regarding 5G reception in a 5G capable handset @TT_606016.

@TT_606016 . Actually, it's a bit of both.
If the phone is not capable of 5G, then you cannot get it, no matter what sim you put in.
If your network (and therefore its SIM cards) are not ready for 5G, again you won't get it regardless of the phone.
