Are you saying that you moved from one network that didn't offer Esim to another that also didn't offer Esim....because the original network didn't offer Esim?
MSF No. I moved to 3 UK the moment they made eSIM available to PAYG accounts. I don't live in the UK, so it's just a holding number for when I return. One of my parents was on EE and the other Smarty. I moved both to 1P as they have SIM slots.
1P offer identical EE service, yet without the crappy web interface and speed limitations. It was a no brainer.

Wow - finally! I have long moved our accounts on though. Hopefully 1PMobile releases eSIM (our new UK home).

> eSims at the moment are more of a gimmick, with mostly the higher-end devices supporting them

you are not wrong, though. Usually when Apple do something the rest follow so if Apple make an eSIM only iPhone in the UK, If mobile networks want to keep up their customer base, then they will have to adapt. Much like had to happen in the USA when Apple brought out the eSIM on the iPhone over there

Lordvega The status of this Idea has been changed to "Accepted", so it looks like Smarty think it will be a good idea. Problem is, there's no real way of knowing when it will be completed.
I understand, from what I read, that the new iPhone 17 due out in September will be Esim only. Presumably that will apply to all future models too. While not everything is driven by iPhone totally, this may be the reason why they are moving on with it - before the end of September?!?!
