What do you think of Smarty?
Not much. Started thinking about switching in October. Asked simple presale question. For 3 months they parroted the FAQs telling me it was easy and I just should activate sim. Even lodged complaint and they did same. When I did accidentally activate sim, turned out I'd been given **bleep** advice.
Everything worked fine on O2.
Having checked coverage before joining Smarty and told it was good, once I did sign up there are no signal bars for calls and texts showing on my phone. Every time I pick up my phone, Smarty tells me it can't send my message because no network is available. This is even when I want to use my home WiFi. The no signal message happens in London, Scotland and everywhere in between on the East Coast Main Line.
Last night I spent 2 hours on chat to a robot in India with no resolution. I was told to take all sorts of things in and out of the phone to no avail. Then I was toputmysim "in another phone". What other phone??? I have none.
If I wanted to have a new sim, I had to accept the current one being switched off "for security".
Eventually the robot Maboob said that coverage was not good where I live in London, and that it was "very happy to have answered all my questions. "
A nightmare since the beginning, and it continues...
