Very recently closed account / lost number
Hello and sorry for bothering you,
I made a mistake and thought I still had some of the 40 days left to keep my account open. I realised a couple of days later after it was closed that I was wrong. Because not much time has passed, I was hoping that I could keep my old number at least. I'm under the impression that numbers aren't immediately "recycled" to be ready to be given to someone else. Is there a fix for this, for example via PAC? I still see my number on my accounts page. I have already used the "message us" function twice (one was out of hours).
I have made a mistake and I will be more careful in the future. I don't approve of making a habit of being careless because time and effort usually ends up being needed to deal with the consequences.
I will say that I only got one text and one email about this and a specific date wasn't mentioned. I would have been less likely to f up if I got better reminders. I am primarily at fault though.

MarkT_645237 After 180 days of inactivity, you usually get the 40 day warning email/text and, from what you say, that seems to have happened.
To test if your sim is still active with that number, could you get someone to ring it? That will test if it has not been deactivated. If you have written to Smarty, there isn't much else you can do - other than try to purchase a plan and see if it is accepted.
