Using the SIM in a 4G dongle

Hi, I recently bought a SIM for use in a 4G dongle but the speed is terrible - download is OK but upload almost non-existent. I notice that SMARTY does allow their SIMs to be used in dongles, but does it need to be a data only SIM? If so how do I swap it / swap plans?

    Weirdly it works fine in a phone - download and upload speed the same - but when I put it in the dongle, download speed is good but upload is really bad (less than 0.5Mbps). Could it be an issue with the dongle?

    lanjbl​ It does not have to be a data only sim to go into a dongle. 

    Have you completed coverage check and network status check for your postcode to see if there is a known issue?
