Using phone in turkey

VinceVa_1817176  Chalkychap  All very strange! I was roaming in Greece and we have now sailed to Turkey but I am still able to connect to the Greek network at the minute, much to my surprise.

 I think it may well depend upon how far away from Greek territory you are. I suspect that I may be connecting to one of the masts in Greek Islands which are close e.g. Samos.

As well as what Chalkychap says, try to use free wifi connections where possible. On a reasonable connection, you may be able to have WhatsApp contact instead of expensive calls at 50p per min.

Okay VinceVa_1817176, Turkey is not an EU member state, so you cannot use your plan's allowances if you're roaming in Turkey.

Buy an add-on to use your SMARTY SIM in Turkey, so you can PAYG while roaming in Turkey, which is in Roaming 1 charge band (see page 18 & 19 at https://smarty.co.uk/priceguide).
