Rcs port issue..still remains

Do I have to have RCS Can I just not use normal messages tried fixes etc afraid to do reset as these things never work for me. If I turn off RCS will this affect my messages all i want to do is send simple messages ...it was fine on other providers. I ve tried the on off reset number on google etc nothing works unfortunately.  I have A53 5g phone.  I ve read all the messages re this issue but hasnt resolved this unfortunately. Tried Smarty. Ut they didnt really deal properly..
