poor signal the norm now

I’ve been with smarty for about 6 weeks. I travel I lot with work and whilst my signal at home has been ok, almost everywhere else I get dropped calls, extremely slow downloads, and despite showing good signal, actual reality is very poor signal.
I came from EE (MVNO) and likely to go back as my experience has been so bad.

SarahBa_4313693 If your phone shows a strong signal but things are slow, I think that's just network congestion. There is not much you can do in this case because this would be in the network's hands. With dropped calls, make sure VoLTE is turned on. If you have WiFi Calling on, your call might drop if you are walking around reconnecting to new WiFI Access Points. If this is the case, turn it off. With your download speeds, you can try turning off 5G so it doesn't Carrier Aggregate the 5G n78 band during heavy workloads (or always, if you set it that way), which can cause packet loss if the 5G band's signal is weak.

You can submit a complaint here: Submit a complaint | SMARTY. Select 'Network issue' and type your issue in. You receive an Email reply in a few days (it took me 6 days when I made a complaint), and you reply to the Email to respond. If the issue isn't resolved in 6 weeks or is deadlocked, they send you an Email saying you can take it to the Communications Ombudsman and escalate your issue further.

And of course, you can always switch back to your EE MVNO or any other one using that network. No point paying for a service you aren't satisfied with, and SMARTY do cite the "freedom to leave anytime" as a benefit too.
