Need to receive an urgent text whilst in Thailand
Hi sorry if this is an obvious one but I'm planning a trip to Thailand but need to receive a text to my British smarty number while I am there. What would I need to do to ensure I get network coverage as opposed to data for internet usuage? Is there a package I need to buy?

juancha808 When you are roaming outside the EU, you do have to pay to send a text, but receiving them should be free (assuming that they are from standard UK numbers and not short does that charge).
You should be able to connect to a mobile network while there and it is usual to receive an initial text warning about charges for data, calls and sending texts.
