My connection doesn’t go higher than 1.7mbps. Why is that

Got some decent responses here. The Ofcom coverage map that was mentioned by ZenovA is a great one, as it is non-biased information. If it doesn't work well still, there's O2 and EE to check out. Speak to friends or family who use those at your address or see if you can grab a non-commital plan to test signals

Michael_3774232 Unfortunately, a question like that is really too vague.(It also helps to sprinkle the odd 'please' in questions to add flavour and make it not sound like a demand!)
You need to let people know what you have already tried if you want some meaningful help. As it happens, I think that ZenovA has given you mostof the stuff that you should have already tried.

Michael_3774232 You might be in an area with poor coverage where you are far from Three's masts (or Vodafone if MOCN has been rolled out in your area), or indoors where the walls might be blocking the radio signals. Check the coverage here, and check the status of the network here. Ofcom also has a coverage map here, and there is a coverage map in the Speedtest.net app which is crowdsourced.
You can try switching to use only 4G Network Mode, as maybe your phone is holding onto a weak 5G connection. Otherwise, you might just have bad coverage with Three's network, so you might need to try another network under EE or O2.
