Has Wifi Calling broken again (Oct 2026)

I'm not sure if it's has anything to do with my recent switch to an eSIM (it probably doesn't) but I don't seem to be able to get Wifi Calling working on my iPhone 18 Pro today.  I've tried restarting, switching to other wifi networks, checking for carrier updates, toggling Wifi Calling off and on again, disabling my 2nd (physical) SIM, everything I can think of.  My O2 physical SIM is connecting with Wifi Calling but my SMARTY eSIM is flat out refusing.  Is this a widespread issue or is something screwy with my iPhone?

AlecEdworthy WiFi Calling only kicks in when your cellular signal is weak that the phone thinks it's better to route your voice call packets via your home internet. Some networks allow you to prefer mobile network or WiFi for calls, but SMARTY (and Three) have this setting disabled, and defaults to prefer mobile network with the behaviour above.

Prefer WiFi will always route your calls to WiFi when you are connected to it, and fall back to cellular when you disconnect your WiFi. You can force WiFi calling by setting your phone to airplane mode and then enabling WiFi, or setting your phone to 3g/2g mode. This forces your phone to only route your calls through WiFi. You should see the WiFi calling icon on the status bar, and see a WiFi icon in the call button. If this doesn't let you use WiFi calling, contact support to see what's going on.

And no, changing to eSIM shouldn't have changed any network behaviour.

Thanks ZenovA, having moved to a different building with a slightly lower signal I can indeed see Wifi Calling has kicked in.  I'd never noticed it was signal dependent (or indeed could be).  Thank you for the prompt and helpful reply.
