Carrier information on phone

Hi , I hope that you tech savvy and experienced phone user can help. This morning (28.07.2026) my phone carrier information advised me that I was on EE and a little time later it changed back to Smarty. I pay Smarty for my phone use.

Is this a normal occurrence or is my phone on the blink

    Hello djj2101​,

    That does sound unusual! Were you previously with EE and switched to Smarty? Alternatively, was your device second-hand? I just ask this as a previous user may have been on EE, and the device may have saved a previously registered network. As long as the correct number shows, you should have no issues.

      The phone is a refurbished model and I have no information its previous use. However the information on  settings /about phone /sim1 /network said it was EE but later changed to SMARTY.

    djj2101​ I'll start by confessing that I am not that tech savvy.

    I have never seen anything like that happen on a phone. Do you by any chance have a second esim for travel etc that was left on and might have linked to EE?

      I have no knowledge of an esim nor have I ever been with EE. The phone is a refurbished model and the described event has only bee noticed once. I did question if I had seen an aberration but I checked in settings /about phone /sim1 /network and it said EE but changed later
