Cap for unlimited plan
I have just started using Smarty with unlimited plan. May I know if there’s any cap? I ask because it seems slower after using it for couple hours. Does it happen to everyone? Or it’s just me because I have the personal hotspot set up.

This is where some clarity is needed, Smarty say tethering 8 appliances constitutes a breach, yet the data SIM plan says unlimited tethering in the UK

NickJoh_2993198 I think that you may be missing the "Fair Usage" Policy here.
£20 maximum per month to run 8 appliances does seem a bit on the heavy side here.

At the risk of repeating myself, data only SIM plan states "unlimited tethering in the UK" all I am asking for is clarity

Hi AliceCh_1943701 - please see this support article - https://help.smarty.co.uk/en/articles/1155178-our-policy-on-data-shaping-and-network-throttling
In short, they say that they do not restrict speeds.

Bought a huawei dongle with a smarty sim and it was 30mbs down and 26dbs upload.
for about a week
now it’s 2mbs down and 0.3mbs upload.
**bleep** useless

Point 5.15 does give Smarty the right to restrict your service if they think that you have been using data for commercial uses or for tethering more than 8 appliances - I'm not saying that you fall into those categories, but they can do it.

The only cap I'm aware of AliceCh_1943701, is the 12GB/month cap for EU roaming mobile data.
Three UK (SMARTY's parent) have an active traffic management policy (called TrafficSense), which they say is used in times of high congestion or network issues, when bandwidth might be rerouted from quieter places to places with higher demand - to make sure things are running smoothly across Three's network.
