Calling all Unlimited Plan customers…

We’re keen to hear from you and how we can enhance your experience with SMARTY so we have a few questions for you. You don’t have to answer them all, you don’t have to write pages and pages (unless you want to), we just really want to know how you feel about your plan and how we can make the experience better. Please be honest, feel free to make suggestions, you won’t hurt our feelings (I can cry in private), and we might be able to do something about some of them. (No promises.)

  • Why are you on an Unlimited plan? Do you stream a lot of TV? Do you send hi-res images and video around?
  • Do you use it overseas? Do you feel 12GB suits that need? Do you use an EU data pass to unlock the rest of your data when in Europe?
  • What can do to make things better (other than reducing the price; that’s obvious and we all love a bargain)? Longer data passes? Non-EU passes? Rewards on your anniversary? No idea is off the table. (Might not be achievable, but no harm in asking, eh?)

Of course, if everything is OK and you’re happy, post that too. Contentment is fine.

Thanks

First of all you should know that I'm retired so I have a lot of time for holidays and recreation.  I use Smarty for data ONLY through a MiFi, whenever I go camping or on holidays from home.

I absolutely love the fact I can put it on hold when I don't need it so full credit to you guys for coming up with that one.  Now I'm looking into somewhere that allows me to transfer my data usage when I go abroad as I find 12gb is quite measly.

I will FaceTime my family or stream a lot of tv in the evenings hence the need for unlimited which I doubt I need but I don't want to get caught short.

    Thanks

I've been an unlimited smarty data customer for two years. Generally the service is very good. I travel a lot for work in the UK and sometimes in Europe. My employer provided voice and data ... but I like to use my own data sim in my own time. I have unlimited as I know I'm fully covered for one price. The fair use data roaming allowance in Europe of 12gb is low and the number of days it can be used is important too... sometimes I can be out of the country for several weeks.

Sunnyvine Have you considered one of the many Esims that are available once you get to your 12Gb limit?

I got unlimited because I would have been paying for home Wi-Fi by myself (I considered asking if someone in the same building wanted to share but never did). I only use it to stream to my Fire TV Stick. I have recently moved and I'm really missing decent speakers to stream my music to, something for the future. I also use the data to stream music to headphones while traveling, Google Maps for directions and other entertainment or info on the go. I was running out or rationing data for this when I first moved to the country a few months ago and I wasn't paying much less than for unlimited. The feeling of unlimited feels so good, no monitoring if data is getting low.

I was disappointed that if I travel to Europe the gb allowance is lower than some other companies.

I was also sad to stop getting international phone minutes (Lebara has these included). I have one friend in New Zealand who has issues with technology, so I can't message or phone her via the Internet.

The reception has been good. It often seems to have slightly better bars or at least the same than my old SIM which is still in the second slot.

I wanted to get a SIM from ID Mobile but they ridiculously do a credit check even for month to month contracts and I haven't lived back in the country for long, so haven't built a good credit score.
