Caller id is suddenly unknown number to my friends??

Depending on the phone it might be worth checking the call settings, if you are using an iphone go to settings , select  phone select show my caller id, and toggle the switch to on. 

It may be worth asking the friend to delete you from their contacts and then add you again once you call to see if this deals with the issue.
