airalo esim

I have iphone15. Will an airalo esim for South Africa work with my Smarty sim?  Thanks

Yes, it will work - I have used one before. I recently moved to using Roamless because it is more flexible, if a little more costly per Gb. With Airalo, if you don't use the data within the period you chose, you lose it whereas credit with Roamless stays on your account. It all depends whether you are a big data user while travelling.

Yes, you can keep your main smarty SIM as your number. The way these travel eSIM's work is they act as data only (Internet) for you, they will not work as a standard phone. Your Smarty SIM will continue to use its number, just make sure you turn on roaming just to be safe.

When you use Airalo, it will act as your internet. Just make sure you make it a data SIM and you should be good to go. Also, set it up a day before you go on holiday and when you arrive, it should connect automatically.

feather_3719708 Yes, it should be no different whatever provider you use in the UK. You simply change the sim priority within settings. The reason for doing that is that, if you have any credit on your Smarty account and your Smarty sim is the priority one, then that credit would be swallowed up in short order. If you turn smarty off and the chosen esim on, that would not happen.
