Re: Terribly low download (and upload) speeds. Please help.
Phones and iPad antennas built into the device make a huge difference with connection issues from the mobile phone network. The processor in either device plays a big part as well. this might be the issue. You could use a signal strength app to see in you premise where the best signal strength is.3.9KViews0likes0CommentsRe: very poor speeds
Hi you could use an external antenna and find the perfect spot to gain a higher DB and better SNR so the router is gaining the maximum signal strength and thus potentially gaining a better signal and subsequent increase in speeds. However I've been informed that you could fall foul of smarty 5.15 information. Anyways most people have a backup router they use just in case the main home internet has an issue. Amazon are good for antenna, I currently use in my van when on the road a poynting up to 3dbi gain antenna with suction cups so you can stick on the glass or bodywork of either. It takes a bit of moving around the antenna to put it in the perfect spot but its worth it in my opinion in the end. Do let us know how you get on..2KViews0likes0CommentsRe: [Ideas] What more can SMARTY do for you?
More 5G cell mast and more use of other service providers equipment Hi I have an idea ? How about installing a 5G cell mast in more city's or have more of an agreement with the service provider you use to be allowed to use their 5G equipment more towns and cities can benefit from faster speeds. I've noticed that Scotland is limited for 5G signal apart from some major towns and cities but the further you go up into the Cairngorms and further the 5G does pretty much become non existent. I've also found that other smaller towns and villages do not have 5G either, and this is a real pain because sometimes the 4G signal isn't so great either. However we all have to manage our expectations when it comes to the service you provide as remembering the price point for such service would probably warrant the signal of 5G to be slowly rolled out hopefully to the towns and cities that so desperately need a faster speed and excellent signal strength when travelling through Scotland.. I'm not sure what other service providers are offering when it comes to 5G but 8 knows BT does indeed offer 5G as standard in all its areas! Can this be done Smarty as a standard, I mean if a price increase is needed to compensate the continuous rollout of 5G on you network in more towns and cities then let's go. Any way thanks for listening to my ask and maybe just one day I will see the magical 5G logo popup on phone to where I live.6.3KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Voicemail
I've recently tried the silence route when setting up voicemail for the first time. And it doesn't work.it will give you a couple of attempts and then kick you off the line. So you can't then progress to the next stage of setting up the voicemail. I mean why do you have to say your name. People can't stand this. To many scammers out there I'm the ethos now collecting everyone's name now. Can't smarty just let you use a default message. Makes sense right. I really think smarty are missing a trick here.5.1KViews1like0CommentsIntermittent service in my area for data
I'm certainly not that critical when it comes to smartys mobile service infrastructure when it comes to cost and being able to manage expectations for them. But I live in Scotland and have just moved to them from BT mobile due to cost. So I was expecting some loss and drop of service due to not ever where gas 5g signal. So again I'm managing expectations on that point. But I feel the data only service plan I have seems really slow. I even have an external antenna picking up my nearest mast signal which translates to 56 meg into the router which even then with ethernet connection it's still slow. Around 46 meg. And the signal strength is never really more than 2 bars. I'm wondering if need to change the antenna I'm using to a better Omni direction as as I do not have line of sight so this would be the better option for this issue. As I feel way to many obstacles and obstructions are in the way. My question ❓ is anyone know of an amazing antenna to use other than the X-pole 5g V2 I'm currently using., I'm looking for recommendations please if any. The X-pole has a gain of 3db other I see have 11 dB gain ? Is this even possible to have this much of a gain to an already congested signal with at best 108 snr ?6.1KViews0likes16Comments
