Put SIM card in phone phone works no iPhone messages and my number in phone settings is the new sim number not my old number

@Davidke_3011889 Have you done any research on this issue, because it comes up very often?

The number in Settings is the original number of the sim. A network rest via Settings should show your porte in number (assuming that is showing in your Account Dashboard).

iPhone messages work on Data - is Mobile Data on in Settings?

Have you also tried changing the number manually to the old number? Settings>Apps>Phone>My Number.
Have you chosen to port your old number from the previous supplier?
