Unexplained High Usage
I purchased an internet dongle for my Dad's Laptop 18 months ago with a 4GB monthly allowance. He only sends e-mails and does a bit of light surfing the net.
Everything was fine up to a few months ago (he was getting through 2-3GBs a month). Then suddenly, all his data allowance was being used up on the first day of allocation. Once, after he'd only sent one e-mail.
I have now de-activated the plan but I would like to get this resolved.
Has anybody got any idea what the issue could be?

SteveMu_1387763 As a suggestion, a system update on the operating system of his device could certainly use a load of data.
If he has stayed logged into some websites, this may also be using data.
A simple speed test while on 5G eats through data - personal experience!
Thanks for the suggestion. I have upgraded to a bigger data package and so far so good.
