Text replies are from a different number

I transferred my existing number to the SMarty plan. I can receive texts & calls to my existing number. However if I send or reply to a text, the number at the other end is different & this number doesn't come up as an existing contact to the person I am replying to or sending an original text.

    The messages with the wrong sender number will not be SMS text messages, but either iMessages or RCS messages.

    If you're on an iPhone, see here.

    If on Android, go into the Messages app, go to Settings, toggle off RCS, wait a minute, then toggle it back on. It should show which number you have registered for RCS messaging, and this should now be the correct number.
