Text message problem
I recently started using smarty, and I received my SIM with the new number, so I transfered my old number to here, but when I send a text, my new number shows up on the receiving phone, even though I transfered my existing number to here, and if I get a reply, they can send it to both numbers and I'll still receive the text

You may need to check the settings on your phone. It should show 'My Number' somewhere (depends if iPhone or Android) and you should change it to show the correct number.
It is sometimes incorrect as the phone picks up the number from the sim when you insert it - in this case it is possibly the number that came with the sim and it did not register when you transferred your own number over to the phone (because the sim didn't physically change).
Hope this helps.

Turn off FaceTime & iMessage/your phone’s messaging & then do a network reset. Once complete turn on messaging again & your ported number will show.
Just joined Smarty & had the same problem.- MSFSMARTY Guru05-11-2024
Goddess_Bastet Curious that this only applies to one of the contacts? We often see the problem, but it is usually the same for all calls and texts.

Thanks. My reply was for everyone in the thread with the problem I had. As for this just affecting 1 contact that is strange.

GaryTyr_2913357 Are you saying that texts won't send at all, or do they have the wrong number? Have you done a Network Status check for your area?

Some texts that I send to a friend appear on their phone as coming from my Smarty number which I changed to my previous number when I joined Smarty. I don’t have this problem with with others on the Smarty network or other networks.

Has anyone fixed this FaceTime and messenger problem with temporary number on phone and can’t change. Have tried everything that has been mentioned

Jeanett_2914747 Did you follow the clear advice given by @Rebekah above in this thread?
The phone 'remembers' the first number allocated to the sim and has to be persuaded to change it to your ported-in number.
