Roaming in South Africa
MarkTins_994050 Yes, sounds about right. It's incredibly expensive to use Smarty in South Africa - 25p per MB of data. This means you would burn through £40 of credit by using just 160MB of data.
She must be making some use of data away from the WiFi, though (or her phone is without her realising). If she wasn't there'd be no need to add any credit to her account.
If her phone supports eSIM she could use a provider like Airalo much more cheaply.
Many thanks for your reply.....yes, i dare say that she is using the phone to some extent but i was shocked at how fast the add on(s) were used. I thought that there was no way that she had been on her phone that much to use all of the add on. But, Your explanation of the way way the data is costed now makes sense......160MB of data though....Jeeeeeez !
