Can I put my old SIM card in until the date of the transfer?

Can you be more specific ?
Are you asking whether you can use the SIM card from your current network, which is not Smarty, until your number ports across to Smarty ? If so, the answer is YES, you can do that, and would in fact need to do this to receive and make calls, send and receive texts and use the mobile internet until your number transfers to Smarty.
