Oppo reno 8 pro WiFi calling

Does anyone know if WiFi calling works with the oppo reno 8 pro handset? Used to use a oneplus 10 pro with my smarty sim and no problems but the reno isn't showing any WiFi calling symbol in the status bar even when there's no network signal.

NickCha_1506927 Yes it appears that the model is compatible. The list from the smarty help centre is not an exhaustive one - therefore there are many more manufacturers/models that can support both Wifi calling/ VoLTE but it is not possible to list each and every one.

I came across another forum (from another network that also uses Three) where someone with the same phone posted that they were able to use Wifi calling absolutely fine - and that a toggle is present to enable/disable this feature in the SIM menu settings. They did not see an icon for it in the status bar to indicate it was on, though.

You may not see an icon for VoLTE/Wifi calling when it is active because not every network has a 'profile' for all devices - you could dial *#*#4636#*#* to see whether it is provisioned on the SIM or not - that is usually a good indicator. I have this same thing with my OnePlus Nord also.

    Hope this helps!

Yes, it does - a simple Google search says that.

The manual will also cover that.

Make sure the phone has been updated to the most recent version of Android, and then also switch Wi-Fi calling on.

Thanks for coming back to me.

This is the third device I've asked about and I'm told all 3 aren't supported by smarty.

The link you sent re supported devices only has manufacturers names and no models.

It seems such a shame that smarty offer good packages but only support such a small number of handsets.

I need WiFi calling as there is no signal where I live so I guess I'll have to try a more mainstream network provider.

But as smarty is using 3 why can't you offer the same choice as 3 for WiFi calling compatibility?

I agree with jassingh - My Asus Zenfone 9 is not on Smarty’s list, but works great, including Wi-Fi calling.

However, as you say “I need Wi-Fi calling” because there is no signal where I live” I would question the wisdom of using Smarty. In a power cut, you would be stuck, no Wi-Fi coupled with no phone signal. You would be far better off to use a network that has coverage where you live, work and socialise.
