Peregrin0925 I have just checked this and it is certainly working for me.
I hope I'm not being patronising but....... have you noticed that recently there's another (third) option on HMRC log in page now and it comes top of their list - to receive the code via their new shiny app? If you have inadvertently chosen that, it could explain no code from the normal text source.

No worries - the option use the mobile app is not there until you first set the app up - I now see it now that I have done that. So now I can use that or the auth app as an alternative to SMS. Not sure why that wasn’t working initially, but glad it is resolved now for whatever reason.
