iCloud Private Relay
I have been with Smarty for a couple of years. Today for the first time I have started getting messages pop up on my iPhone telling me "Your mobile plan doesn't support iCloud Private Relay: To access the internet with this provider, you need to turn off Private Relay. Turning off Private Relay means this provider can monitor your internet activity and your IP address will not be hidden". I don't know too much about whether this important or not, but I am confused about why this has just started today. Has anyone else had this issue, and is there anything I can do to continue to use my phone internet with private relay?471Views0likes0CommentsProtecting against SIM swap fraud
There are numerous instances these days of SIM Swap fraud. In addition to setting a PIN code to unlock the SIM card, what else can we do to prevent scammers from persuading SMARTY that a SIM has been lost or damaged and handing over a new SIM to them?2.2KViews0likes6CommentsURGENT: SMARTY is failing now, time to move to ID
Compare Smarty to ID on here: https://www.uswitch.com/mobiles/compare/sim_only_deals/ Smarty is honestly terrible. ID offers so much more on the same network for the same price. They offer more data per £, data rollover, more EU countries access, 30GB EU Roaming (18 more than Smarty), e-sim for Watches, 3 months of Apple TV + Music. It is a no-brainer to switch now, Smarty has lost it's game sadly.795Views0likes2CommentsApp and Website login constantly asks for verification - never remembers trusted devices
Why is it that every time I access the website and/or app (Android Galaxy S23 Ultra) I am constantly nagged to enter a verification code (sent via email or text). This is especially annoying when using the phone app as it explicity it asks if I "trust this device". Why not just add biometric (fingerprint/face id) support and be done with it? Does anyone else have this issue?Solved4.8KViews1like7Comments[We Value Your Feedback] Share Your Experience with Our Login and Authentication Process

Hi, I haven't received my SIM yet, but had a few questions: 1 My account page does not have much functionality, will this change once I activate my SIM? 2 If I navigate away from my dashboard, I seem unable to navigate back again; there does not seem to be a button to take me straight back to the dashboard. 3 My contract says that I will get double the data "for up to 15 months", which seems a bit vague. Does anyone know how long the offer actually runs for, and why don't they give a definite figure? 4 I haven't been offered two factor authentication on my account; is this something that will be offered after activation of my SIM?4KViews0likes10CommentsCall Divert FRAUD suspected
A caller phoned me claiming that they had received a missed call from my phone an hour previous; I had not used my phone that morning. The caller was adamant that they had received a call from my number and wanted to know if I was a business (I am not/never have been) and asked me several times. Subsequently I am wondering if my number has been copied/cloned and tried seeking advice from Smarty, to no avail as they appear to put profit over security/customer support and hide behind their Kafkaesque website to prevent contacting them. Any suggestions before I approach Ofcom to complain of Smarty's failure to engage with me?1.9KViews0likes8CommentsUnusual high amount of calls from businesses
Hi everyone I've been getting more than a few nuisance calls lately since I switched to Smarty. I don't know if it's just coincidence, and it probably is nothing to do with the switch, as I am using the same number I was using with my previous network. My latest call is from "Manor Farm House" - 01747 811974 and when I answered it, a man said "I've just walked through your door Mr (my surname) and there's no one here, so (swear word I don't think I can say on here) off"... this immediately panicked me as I was home alone at the time and the call happened literally a few seconds after I entered my house. I have no idea how they know my phone number, I can only guess they know my surname from online profiles Another call I had was from "Robert Bowring Butchers Bolsover" - 01246 824238... strangely I got this call at 17:36 yesterday and according to Google, this butchers shop I've never heard of or visited closed at 3pm yesterday so they wouldn't be open at 17:36. Unless it was a spoofed number or this butchers shop isn't a genuine butchers?? I also had a call from "O2" which was a private number. For this one I was bored anyway so went through with them giving false details, logic being the more of their time I waste, someone else more vulnerable than me isn't being scammed in that few minutes. I made up names and address etc when asked for them, and once they asked for my postcode I said "my postcode is 'I know you are a scammer'" and they told me to (swear word I don't think I can say on here) off... I usually use Google Pixel Call Screen for these calls, but I am waiting for a phone call from something I've applied to and I don't know the number it will be coming from. Usually I don't get so many, has anyone else had an influx in nuisance calls lately?! I am aware the easiest solution would be to get a new phone number, but I've had this one for years and it's linked to so many services it would be more effort than it's worth to change it Thanks in advance for any help!6.1KViews0likes2CommentsMMS service and user safety.
I think I would like to request smarty addressing the issue where sending images via MMS is concerned is too small. 300Kbs is not enough when other networks allow 3meg upto 10meg per file. I use the emergency service on my phone for safety and it automatically takes pictures from the front and back camera and 5 seconds of voice as well as GPS location to 3 people in my contacts. When I activate this service nothing gets sent as the file sizes are over 300Kbs, I have even told the phone to compress and make the images smaller but still won't work. Some people will say to use WhatsApp etc, but not all contacts use WhatsApp. And when it comes to MMS this service is a reliable standard service throughout the world and we don't need to worry about who is using what app to receive files etc So, this is important, specially for the elderly and vulnerable people in society who use this service that comes with Samsung phones. Can we see to it that smarty increases their file sizes please to allow this service to work efficiently and effectively. Many thanks.2.2KViews0likes2Comments
