My best bargain ever was a hand knotted wool rug for £3 at an auction. A new one the same size and pattern was £1200.

My best bargain this year was a greenhouse on a social media marketplace. It was offered free but I had to dismantle it.. It cost £150 to replace some damaged and worn out bits but a new one was £2500. 

Best tip for bargains is research the items you want and the features you need, and set the price you're prepared to pay. Be patient and wait for the deal.  Review on price comparison sites to make sure your "deal" is actually a saving
