[Announcement] BIG NEWS: You can now text shortcodes! đ
Yes, we heard you loud and clearâitâs been a long time coming, but the wait is finally over...SMARTY now supports shortcode messaging.
So, whatâs the big deal with shortcodes?
Theyâre those snappy little numbers (3-6 digits, usually five) that let you:
âď¸ Enter epic competitions
âď¸ Vote for your favourite reality TV stars
âď¸ Confirm important appointments
âď¸ Donate to causes that matter
...and much more.
Heads up! Chargeable shortcodes arenât included in your plan, so youâll need an out-of-plan add-on to text them.
If your shortcode is free, such as to confirm a doctorâs appointment, text away.

If I send Spam texts to 7726 is any action actually taken to stop them coming through?
Those numbers are looked into 100%, O2 just cant necessarily get back to you. Problem is, anyone using these numbers to spam you with texts and calls, buys them up for literal pennies, and theyll just get another, so whilst it hinders them, another will find you, especially as your number has been sold around to scammers everywhere already.
But we still can't vote in Eurovision? Tried last night and failed. You can't text vote in the UK so you either dial a shortcode or a long number. I topped up especially and neither worked. Is this ever gonna change?

I have an add-on and tried to vote in the Eurovision semi final yesterday via 62252 and then the song number, but it wouldnât let me. Iâve typed in the short code in the app and it says it isnât recognised. Why isnât this working?

How do I get get short code to work? I have enough funds and adult filter is off,but when I txt nothing happens, very frustrating

Been through everything SMARTY have said, still canât use shortcodes. Even tried resetting the text service, but, guess what, it doesnât work. None of the articles, none of the specific help âhelpsâ. It was bad enough when SMARTY didnât seem able to- or willing - to activate shortcodes for so long, but itâs worse having big announcements that SMARTY has finally provided a basic service that customers still canât use
